OVERVIEW

 Mere Liye, came three years after the release of Sagarika's debut album "Maa". It belongs to the Pop-Romantic genre and has total of 8 tracks in Standard Edition and has total of 12 tracks (8 Main Tracks + 4 Bonus Tracks) in Bonus Track Edition which was only present on Audio CD. In this album, the four bonus tracks "Kabhi Socha Tumhe Zara" and "Kya Hone Laga Mujhe" were came from the album "Sparsh", "Musafir Hoon Yaaron" came from the album "Desi Boyz (desivoice.com)" (which was originally taken from the film "Porichoy") and "Tanha Dil Tanha Safar" came from the album "Tanha Dil". All main songs were composed by Sagarika Mukherjee except "Alakananda Utha Rahi" which was composed by Jayanta Das and bonus songs were composed by Zubeen Garg and Farhad Wadia. Lyricist were penned by Sagarika Mukherjee, Shaan, and Zubeen Garg except "Musafir hoon Yaaron" penned by Gulzar. The two tracks "Alakananda Utha Rahi" was the remake version of Assamese Song called "Alakananda Uthar Hahi" from 2000 Assamese film Jon Jwole Kopalot and "Karu Pon Bandhami" was reused in Assamese Version as "Karo Pon Bandhumoi" in the album "Jui" in which both the songs were sung by Zubeen Garg himself. Sagarika's Younger Brother Shaan also sang a song "Hum Ke Liye".

DEVELOPMENT

Initially, Indian Pop Singer Mehnaz Hoosein was supposed to sing a song "Mere Liye", however for unknown reason, she opted out. Later, Sagarika steeped in to sang the song with the rest of her four songs, while her brother Shaan sang one song, Zubeen sang two songs and Suchitra sang one song.

During "Mere Liye" music launch, Afghanistan and United States were scheduled to released on Late October 2001, however both countries were eventually cancelled due to 9/11 attacks in US and War attacks in Afghanistan.

AFTERMATH

After the released of the "Mere Liye" album, Sagarika and Zubeen took a break from Bollywood Music Industry for a year due to the preparations for their wedding ceremonies which were held on 4th February 2002, while Shaan and Suchitra were continued to singing.
